BREAKING NEWS : Fire Engulfs Popular Fitness Center in Gwarinpa, Abuja

 A devastating fire broke out at Eco Fitness Center in Gwarinpa, Abuja, earlier today, sending shockwaves through the community. Thankfully, no lives were lost in the inferno, but the facility suffered significant damage.

The Incident

According to eyewitnesses, the fire started around 10:00 am on Wednesday, November 13, 2024, when approximately 50 members were exercising at the center. The swift evacuation and prompt response from firefighters ensured everyone's safety.

"I was in the middle of my workout when I heard a loud noise and saw flames spreading rapidly," said an eyewitness. "We all rushed out of the building as quickly as possible. It was chaotic, but thankfully, everyone got out safely."

The Federal Capital Territory (FCT) Fire Service responded promptly to the distress call, arriving at the scene within minutes. Firefighters worked tirelessly to contain the blaze and prevent further damage.

"We received the distress call at 10:05 am and immediately deployed our team to the location," said a spokesperson for the FCT Fire Service. "Our swift response helped prevent any loss of life."

The cause of the fire remains unknown and is currently under investigation by the authorities.

"We are working to determine the cause of the fire and will take necessary measures to prevent such incidents in the future," said a spokesperson for the Abuja Metropolitan Management Council.

Management of Eco Fitness Center has released a statement expressing gratitude that no lives were lost.

"We are deeply grateful that all our members and staff are safe. We apologize for the inconvenience and assure our members that we will work diligently to restore our facilities."
